Igor Tomic

Igor Tomic is a Researcher at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), affiliated with the School of Architecture, Civil and Environmental Engineering (ENAC) and the Earthquake Engineering and Structural Dynamics Laboratory (EESD). He also serves as a Lecturer in the SGC-ENS teaching division.

His research focuses on Earthquake Engineering and Structural Dynamics, with expertise in seismic effects on structures, conceptual design, and masonry systems. He teaches courses on Dynamics of Structures, Seismic Engineering, and Stone Masonry, covering topics like modal analysis, damping, and seismic assessment of concrete, steel, and masonry buildings.

In his academic role, he advises PhD student Oreb Jakov and contributes to infrastructure resilience education. His work bridges theoretical dynamics with practical seismic engineering solutions for diverse structural materials.
