Igor Sokolov is a Professor and Bernard M. Gordon Senior Faculty Fellow at Tufts University, holding joint appointments in the School of Engineering (Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering) and the School of Arts and Sciences (Physics & Astronomy). He leads research in nanotechnology and biomedical engineering, with a focus on cancer diagnostics, biomaterials, and advanced imaging techniques. His work integrates atomic force microscopy (AFM), machine learning, and nanomaterial synthesis to address challenges in healthcare.
Education:

Research Interests: Presently focuses on engineering for health, including cancer and aging physics, nanoscale biomaterial mechanics, and biomedical imaging. Past work includes quantum field theory and cosmology. Favorite methods: AFM, confocal microscopy, machine learning.
