Igor Longato is a Lecturer at the Lucerne School of Music, part of the Institute of Classical and Church Music at Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts. He specializes in Classical Correpetition and holds a diploma from the Conservatorio G. Verdi in Milan, Italy, with distinction. His training includes studies under notable figures like Piero Rattalino, Fausto Zadra, Boris Bloch, and Hubert Harry.
Longato has been invited to festivals and concerts across Italy, Switzerland, Spain, Croatia, Albania, Turkey, Bulgaria, Belarus, and the USA. As a soloist, he has performed with orchestras such as the Accademia I Filarmonici di Verona, Orchestra Sinfonica dell'Insubria, and The Waterbury Symphony Orchestra, interpreting works by composers like Rachmaninoff, Tchaikovsky, Mozart, and Beethoven.
His research and performance interests span classical and church music, composition, and instrumental performance. He has received the prestigious First Prize from the Gioventù Musicale Italiana in 1992, shared with cellist Relja Lukic.
