Francetic's research focuses on health systems governance, particularly examining primary care delivery, emergency care utilization, and health equity. His work on primary care networks investigates the implications of integrated care models in Switzerland, while his research on emergency care inequalities explores socioeconomic disparities in access to timely treatment. He has also contributed to understanding spillover effects in healthcare, such as how informal caregiving impacts recipient health behaviors and how partner screening participation influences cancer detection rates.
His publications span journals like Health Policy and Planning, Health Economics, and Applied Health Economics and Health Policy. Notable projects include the SNSF Ambizione grant-funded research on primary care delivery equity, which examines how managed care networks affect patient outcomes and costs. His work frequently employs econometric methods and large-scale longitudinal datasets to inform health policy design and implementation.
- Scientific Awards: SNSF Ambizione Research Grant (2024)
As a Principal Investigator, Francetic leads studies evaluating healthcare reforms in Switzerland and low-income countries. His collaborations with the University of Manchester's HOPE group (2020-2023) and Swiss TPH (2019) highlight his expertise in cross-institutional research. He actively contributes to debates on health system governance, antibiotic use regulation, and health worker incentive structures, particularly in sub-Saharan Africa.
