Dr. Igor Adameyko is a Professor and Department Chair at the Center for Brain Research, Medical University of Vienna, and a group leader at Karolinska Institutet. His research focuses on developmental biology, stem cells, and regenerative medicine, particularly the role of Schwann cell precursors in generating diverse cell types during development and adulthood. He has pioneered studies demonstrating the multipotency of neural crest-derived cells, including their contributions to parasympathetic neurons, neuroendocrine cells, and mesenchymal stem cells.
