معرفی
Dr Iestyn Pope is a Researcher affiliated with the School of Biosciences at Cardiff University, part of the BioPhotonics & Quantum Optoelectronics Group led by Prof Paola Borri and Prof Wolfgang Langbein. His work bridges life and physical sciences, focusing on advanced optical microscopy techniques and their applications in biological systems.
Research activities include developing next-generation multiphoton microscopes capable of simultaneous imaging via D-CARS, TPF, and SHG modalities. These tools are applied to study lipid dynamics in living cells, oocyte development, nanodiamond-based optical labeling, and nanoparticle imaging in cells. He collaborates across disciplines, spanning biosciences and physics.
His expertise includes hyperspectral CARS imaging for cellular chemical mapping, resonant Four-Wave Mixing (FWM), and organoid structure analysis. Current projects involve understanding lipid droplet formation mechanisms and nanoparticle-cell interactions.
