Dr. Idris Gadoura is a Teaching Professor and Chair in the Department of Engineering at the University of New Brunswick. His research interests encompass system modeling, analysis and control design for power electronic systems, e-learning and distance education in systems engineering, and applied mathematical methods for solving systems engineering problems.
Dr. Gadoura teaches courses in circuits, power electronics, and control systems. His scholarly work includes publications on numerical methods, fluid dynamics through porous media, boundary value problems, and power electronics design. He has developed expertise in EMI-reduction techniques for power regulators and digital control systems for grid-connected inverters.
Recent mathematical research focuses on developing fifth-order-accurate finite difference schemes and analyzing fluid flow in porous media with pressure-dependent viscosity. In engineering education, he has pioneered models for distance learning in control engineering using multimedia applications.
