Ibrar Bhatt is a Senior Lecturer at Queen's University Belfast's School of Social Sciences, Education and Social Work. His research focuses on the intersections of linguistics and higher education, with particular emphasis on digital literacy, epistemology, heritage literacy, and Sino-Muslim communities. He has held prestigious fellowships, including the Leverhulme Research Fellowship (2021–2023), and led projects such as 'Literacy & Harmony: A Study of Sino-Muslim Literacies in Modern China.' Bhatt has authored/co-authored influential books like A Semiotics of Muslimness in China and Assignments as Controversies.
