Iben Jensen is an Associate Professor at the Department of Culture and Learning, Aalborg University (Copenhagen campus), within the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities. Her research focuses on sociocultural aspects of sustainability, green transitions, intercultural communication, and social exclusion. She leads and participates in interdisciplinary projects such as UPCHAIN (green charcoal in Uganda) and BSU (Building Stronger Universities). Jensen has published extensively on topics including hybrid learning models, postmigrant pedagogy, and marginalized communities' educational experiences.
Her work integrates practice theory with critical intercultural communication studies, addressing global challenges through collaborative research. Notable contributions include textbook revisions on cultural understanding and analyses of structural discrimination in丹麦 Danish society. She actively engages in educational reforms, particularly in Ugandan universities, advocating for student-centered learning and community-driven transformation.
Jensen has supervised four PhD students and contributed to policy discussions through media engagements, emphasizing inclusive education and cultural competence. Her projects often involve international partnerships, focusing on knowledge exchange between Denmark and Africa.
