Ian Wellwood

Ian Wellwood is an Associate Professor in Physiotherapy at the School of Allied Health, part of the Faculty of Health Sciences. His research focuses on improving healthcare outcomes for patients with chronic conditions such as heart failure, stroke, and neurological disorders. He leads and collaborates on multidisciplinary studies addressing diagnostic challenges, patient management strategies, and palliative care optimization.

Key research interests include heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF), post-stroke rehabilitation, and the integration of technology in community health programs.
