معرفی
Ian S. Maze, PhD, is a dual-appointed Professor in the Departments of Neuroscience and Pharmacological Sciences at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. He leads the Maze Laboratory, which investigates chromatin dynamics and histone modifications in neural plasticity and their implications for neurodevelopmental disorders (e.g., Down syndrome, autism) and psychiatric conditions (e.g., depression, substance use disorders). His research employs chromatin biochemistry, genome-wide sequencing, and transgenic models to study monoaminergic dysfunction mechanisms.
Education:
- BS, The Ohio State University
- PhD, Mount Sinai School of Medicine
- Postdoctoral Fellowship, The Rockefeller University
Research Focus: Dr. Maze's work centers on neuroepigenetic regulation, including histone modification dynamics, chromatin reader proteins, and their roles in behavioral plasticity. His laboratory develops targeted therapeutic strategies for brain disorders through mechanistic studies of transcriptional regulation.
Awards:
- McKnight Brain Disorder Award (2022)
- Howard Hughes Medical Institute Investigator (2021)
- Presidential Early Career Award (PECASE, 2019)
- Sloan Neuroscience Fellowship (2016)
- NARSAD Young Investigator Award (2014)
