Dr. Ian Phillips is a Teaching Fellow in the School of Geography, Earth and Environmental Sciences at the University of Birmingham. He holds a BSc, MSc, and PhD from the University of Birmingham, specializing in Geography, Meteorology, and Climatology. His research focuses on the 1973 Isle of Man Summerland fire disaster and climatological studies of the British Isles, particularly rainfall variability and drought prediction. Phillips has been affiliated with the University since 1999, contributing to teaching in statistics, meteorology, and climatology at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
