Ian Meyers

Honorary Professor Ian Meyers is affiliated with the School of Dentistry at the University of Queensland. He specializes in Restorative Dentistry and Dental Materials Science, focusing on dentin microstructure, resin photopolymerization, and dental trauma prevention.

His research explores age-related changes in dentin, acid resistance of restorative materials, and innovative dental bonding techniques. Recent works analyze dentine mineral dynamics, collagen matrix interactions, and light-curing technologies.

Collaborations include studies on dental trauma epidemiology (2023) and biochemical modifications of enamel (2008). Publications span glass ionomer cements, composite resin properties, and laser-activated therapies over three decades.

Professor Meyers contributes to clinical guidelines for minimum intervention dentistry and long-term tooth preservation. He is associated with the Centre for Orofacial Regeneration, Reconstruction and Rehabilitation (COR3) and Clinical Research Units at UQ.
