Ian Meiklejohn

Professor Ian Meiklejohn serves as faculty in the Department of Geography at Rhodes University, where he coordinates the EAR101: Introduction to Earth Science course and maintains an active research profile.

His educational qualifications include:

• HDE (Higher Diploma in Education)
• PhD from the University of Natal

His research centers on geomorphological processes with dual emphases: primary investigations into indigenous rock art deterioration mechanisms and Antarctic/sub-Antarctic landscape evolution, complemented by secondary work applying geospatial technologies. Teaching responsibilities span core physical geography domains including climatology, environmental change analysis, and spatial technology applications.
