Ian J. Murray is a Forrester Fellow at Tulane University School of Law, teaching legal writing and engaging in scholarly activities. He holds a B.A. in Diplomatic History from the University of Pennsylvania (2011), a J.D. from NYU School of Law (2015), an LL.M. in Comparative Laws from the European University Institute (2020), and is completing a PhD in Law (expected 2024). His research focuses on regulatory arbitrage, law and capitalism, sports law, and transnational governance.
Previously, Murray practiced corporate law at Covington & Burling LLP, specializing in private equity transactions. He has organized conferences on commodification and co-authored works exploring legal frameworks in global sports regulation and financial markets. His academic contributions include articles in European Law Open and Global Jurist, addressing topics like EU regulatory capacity and fictitious commodities.
