Dr. Ian Graham is a Senior Lecturer in Operations Management at the University of Edinburgh Business School. He serves as the cohort lead for the MA Business & Law degree and as the Coordinator of Adjustments and Disability contact within the school.

Dr. Graham’s research focuses on the sociology of technology, particularly IT standardization, election administration, and data-driven innovation in services. His work explores the interplay between organizational routines, regulatory governance, and technological systems, with a strong emphasis on public sector applications.
His recent publications and projects analyze regulatory paradoxes, risk management in electoral systems, and the social construction of fraudulent voters. He has also contributed to studies on interorganizational networks, technology adoption, and standardization processes in global contexts.
Dr. Graham has been a Principal Investigator and Co-investigator in multiple EU-funded and ESRC-supported projects, including initiatives on Chinese government standards, flexible convergence of wireless standards, and oceanic nutrient cycles. He is affiliated with the Edinburgh Strategic Resilience Initiative, focusing on innovation and resilience in business contexts.
