Iain Carmichael

Iain Carmichael is an Assistant Professor of Pathology and Data Science at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He holds joint appointments in the Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine and the School of Data Science and Society. His research focuses on computational pathology and medical AI, leveraging deep learning and statistical methods to analyze histology images and clinical data. He is affiliated with the Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center, the Carolina Health Care Informatics Program, and the Bioinformatics and Computational Biology graduate program. Carmichael is also Adjunct Faculty in the Department of Statistics and Operations Research at UNC.
