Irene Iocca is an Associate Professor at the Department of Modern Literature and Culture, Sapienza University of Rome. She teaches Institutions of Italian Linguistics and Methods and Problems of Italian Linguistics at the undergraduate and master's levels, respectively.
Her research focuses on:
- Medieval Italian literature and philology
- Critical editions of Boccaccio's works
- Metrics and stylistics in vernacular poetry
- Manuscript transmission and textual criticism
Key publications include critical editions of Diana's Hunt and studies on terza rima structure, imperfect rhymes, and archival authorship theories. She has presented at international conferences in Geneva and Manchester.
