I. (Ingolf) Dittmann is a Professor of Corporate Governance and Managerial Accounting at the Erasmus School of Economics (ESE), Erasmus University Rotterdam, and a Fellow at ERIM. Affiliated since 2005, his research spans corporate finance, corporate governance, executive compensation, and behavioral finance. He leads NWO-funded projects including 'Explaining Stock Options in Executive Compensation' (2006-2010) and 'Inferring Preferences from Managerial Compensation Data' (2013-2017), and has held visiting positions at the University of California, San Diego.

His research focuses on designing optimal executive compensation contracts, analyzing shareholder voting behavior, and evaluating the impact of corporate governance structures. Notable work includes studies on loss-averse CEOs, pay inequality, and fractional cointegration in financial time series.
Recent publications examine how equity-based compensation influences share repurchase timing relative to the corporate calendar and the relationship between wage gaps and stock returns. His 2013-2017 project on managerial compensation preferences was funded by a NWO vici grant.
