Håkan Olsson

Håkan Olsson is a Professor at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Stockholm, Sweden, where he has been affiliated since 1996. He holds positions within the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, specifically in the Department of Electronics, and has served in numerous leadership roles including head of department, vice chairman of KTH's Faculty Board, and director of studies.

Professor Olsson's research focuses on Radioelectronics and Experimental Quantum Physics. His work spans communication systems, electronics engineering, and ICT innovation. He has been instrumental in shaping academic standards at KTH as chairman of the committee responsible for handling all university promotions to professor or associate professor positions, having decided on sixty promotion cases throughout his career.

With extensive industry experience, Olsson has worked at both Chalmers University of Technology and IBM Research in Yorktown Heights. He also took leave from KTH to found a company within his research area, serving as its CEO and president during the startup phase. His academic contributions include examining numerous degree projects across computer science, electronics engineering, electrical engineering with ICT innovation focus, and communication systems specialties.
