معرفی
Hyunwoo Jung is an Assistant Professor at the University of California, Davis, specializing in the Department of Anthropology. His research focuses on human and primate evolution, forensic anthropology, musculoskeletal health, and osteoarchaeology. He investigates evolutionary processes in skeletal morphology, functional adaptations in feeding and locomotion, and the application of bioanthropological knowledge to real-world contexts such as forensic anthropology and bioarchaeology.
Education:
- 2021: Ph.D. in Anthropology, State University of New York at Buffalo
- 2015: M.A. in Anthropology, Seoul National University
- 2013: B.A. in Anthropology, Seoul National University
- 2021–2024: Postdoctoral Fellow/Visiting Instructor at Midwestern University's Department of Anatomy (AZ)
Research Interests:
- Evolutionary processes in hominin and primate skeletal morphology
- Functional integration of feeding biomechanics
- Bioarchaeological analysis of ancient Korean populations
- Forensic anthropological techniques (e.g., sex, age, ancestry estimation)
- Impact of evolutionary history on human skeletal health
His publications span topics such as morphological modularity, vertebral integration, and osteological analysis of archaeological populations. He teaches courses on primate and human evolution (ANT 151, ANT 152). No scientific awards are listed, but his work reflects significant contributions to evolutionary anthropology and bioarchaeology.
