Hyunjong Choi is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at San Diego State University, affiliated with the College of Sciences. He leads the Real-Time Embedded & Control Systems Laboratory (RTEC), focusing on safe and efficient computing systems for autonomous technologies.

Recent awards include Best Paper and Best Student Paper Awards at RTAS 2024, alongside the Most Autonomous Car Award in CPS-IoT Week 2024. Grants include the SDSU Seed Grant Program and Hyundai Motors funding.
He advises students in real-time systems, robotics, and embedded software, with active collaborations across academia and industry. The RTEC lab drives innovation in system software and algorithms for modern autonomous technologies.
