معرفی
Hyeonbae Kang is the Jungseok Chair Professor in the Department of Mathematics at Inha University, South Korea. His research focuses on mathematical analysis, partial differential equations, inverse problems, and their applications in material science and engineering. He is affiliated with the Institute of Applied Mathematics and the Basic Research Lab at Inha University.
Research Interests: Kang specializes in spectral theory, elasticity, and the analysis of Neumann-Poincaré operators. His work addresses field concentration phenomena in composite materials, neutral inclusions, and the mathematical foundations of inverse problems. Key areas include the study of eigenvalue decay rates, stress analysis in elastic composites, and the development of reconstruction methods for inhomogeneities using boundary measurements.
Awards: Kang is a Fellow of the Korean Academy of Science and Technology, recognizing his contributions to applied mathematics and mathematical physics.
Education & Advising: He has advised numerous students, including current PhD candidate Jungwook Lee and former students such as Hyundae Lee and Eunjoo Kim. His teaching includes advanced courses on real analysis, complex analysis, and applied mathematics.
Recent Activities: Kang has organized workshops on inverse problems and spectral analysis, and delivered plenary lectures at international conferences like ICM 2022. His research group explores cutting-edge topics in multiscale analysis, metamaterials, and imaging techniques.
