Hyejin Jo is a Sessional Lecturer at the Department of Asian Studies, Faculty of Arts, University of British Columbia. She is a Ph.D. candidate at Simon Fraser University's School of Communication, expected to graduate in 2024.

Her research explores the intersections of Korean popular culture, digital platforms, and gender, focusing on how emotions and labor are platformized in the K-pop industry. She employs frameworks from Critical Media Studies, Feminist Political Economy, and Feminist Science and Technology Studies (STS).
