Hyein Ellen Cho is a Lecturer in Korean Studies at Monash University's School of Languages, Literatures, Cultures and Linguistics, and a key researcher at the Monash Gender and Family Violence Prevention Centre. Her expertise focuses on migration, gender-based violence, and Asian Studies, with affiliations including the Borders, Migration and Gendered Violence Research Hub (University of Melbourne) and an adjunct role at Seoul National University’s Institute for Gender Research. She holds a PhD in Sociology and has contributed to over 12 peer-reviewed publications since 2018.
Her research spans interdisciplinary projects like 'Navigating Gender-Based Violence in Superdiverse Societies' and policy-oriented initiatives such as 'Advancing Gender Equality in the Australian Public Sector.' Notable accolades include the Higher Education Academy Fellowship (2024) and the TASA Impact and Engagement Award (2022).
