Hyatt Green

Hyatt Green is Associate Professor in Environmental Biology at SUNY-ESF, leading research in environmental microbiology and wastewater epidemiology. The Green Lab investigates microbial ecology applications for public health and ecosystem management.

Research examines wastewater-based disease surveillance, microbial source-tracking in watersheds, eDNA monitoring of invasive species, and nitrification processes. Current projects include SARS-CoV-2/Mpox wastewater monitoring in NYS and mercury cycling in meromictic lakes.

Teaching includes Environmental Microbiology and Microbial Ecology courses. Actively recruits graduate students and postdoctoral scholars for funded projects in aquatic molecular ecology. Lab maintains collaborative partnerships with health departments and environmental agencies.
