Dr. Byul Hur serves as an Associate Professor of Engineering Technology & Industrial Distribution at Texas A&M University. Her research focuses on mixed-signal/RF circuit design, wireless systems, and environmental/biomedical data analysis. She actively integrates robotics, IoT, and embedded systems into engineering education through capstone projects and curriculum development.
Education: Ph.D. (2011), M.S. (2007) in Electrical & Computer Engineering from University of Florida; B.S. (2000) in Electrical Engineering from Yonsei University.
Key research areas include RF test automation, underwater robotics for environmental monitoring, and mosquito population analysis systems. She develops open-source educational platforms like the Raspberry Pi-based micro-kubernetes cluster and MSP432 microcontroller textbooks. Her work emphasizes bridging engineering education with real-world applications through maker culture initiatives and interdisciplinary projects.
Recent projects include amphibious water sampling rovers, drone-based water analysis platforms, and wireless smart insect trapping systems. She leads the RF Test Group and collaborates on IoT networks for pipeline failure prediction and biomedical drug delivery systems.
