Hunter Price is an Associate Professor of History at Western Washington University, where he has been affiliated since 2014. His research focuses on the American Revolutionary and Civil War eras, early American religious history, and settler colonialism.
Research Interests: Dr. Price explores intersections of religion, colonialism, and national identity in early American history, with particular attention to Methodism and its role in shaping social and environmental dynamics.
Selected Publications: His 2024 book Sacred Capital examines Methodism's influence in the U.S. during the Jeffersonian era. His 2016 article in the Journal of Southern History investigates mobility and religious networks in post-Revolutionary America.
Current Projects: He is researching the LeConte brothers' scientific contributions and their ties to slavery and environmentalism in the 19th century.
