Hun-Seok Kim

Hun-Seok Kim serves as the Samuel H. Fuller Early Career Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. His academic appointment resides within the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) under the broader EECS umbrella.

Kim earned his B.S. from Seoul National University (South Korea) in 2001, followed by M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Prior to his academic career, he worked as a technical staff member at Texas Instruments from 2010 to 2014.

His research centers on system analysis, algorithm development, and VLSI architecture design for low-power/high-performance applications across wireless communication, signal processing, computer vision, and machine learning domains. Kim bridges theoretical algorithms with practical hardware implementations, optimizing energy efficiency in modern computing systems while maintaining robust performance metrics.
