Hugh Woozencroft

Hugh Woozencroft is a Visiting Fellow at St Mary's University, Twickenham and a prominent broadcast journalist hosting his own show on TalkSport three nights weekly. As a high-profile alumnus, he actively mentors students in sports broadcasting, podcasting, and live radio production.

His professional focus spans Broadcast Journalism and Sports Media with dedicated advocacy for Diversity and Inclusion in Sports. Serving on the Black Collective of Media in Sport (BCOMS) board, he develops opportunities for Black, Asian, and ethnic minorities in sports media while hosting critical panels on issues like Black Lives Matter alongside figures such as Anthony Joshua. His work drives systemic change through initiatives including BBC Diversity and Inclusion Summits and national tours.

Hugh mentors St Mary's students by leveraging his extensive career across BBC Radio 5Live, Sky Sports News, and Premier League Productions, where he presented flagship programs like 'Sportsweek' and the Victoria Derbyshire Show before becoming TalkSport's primetime Kick Off Show host in 2019.
