Hubert Winter is a lecturer in jazz saxophone, jazz harmony, and combo at the University of Music Würzburg since 2011, with additional lecturing positions at Hochschule für Musik Nuremberg (since 1999) and Sing- und Musikschule Würzburg (since 1998). Born in 1966, he completed postgraduate studies at New School in New York under George Garzone and Reggie Workman.
His research focuses on jazz performance and composition, particularly exploring intersections between jazz traditions and other genres like tango. Winter has released multiple albums as bandleader including 'Round About Piazzolla' and 'Saga Lydis', demonstrating innovative approaches to genre fusion.
