Huainan Zhao

Huainan Zhao is a Professor of Finance at Loughborough University since 2016. Previously, he held roles including Professor of Corporate Finance at Cranfield University School of Management (2012–2016), Associate Professor at Nottingham University Business School (2010–2012), and Assistant Professorships at CASS Business School (2006–2010) and Durham University Business School (2003–2006). He chairs the Scientific Panel of Business Economics and Management at the Academy of Finland (2015–2016) and has held visiting positions at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, EDHEC Business School, Renmin University of China, and the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. He serves as an external examiner at the Universities of Bristol, Manchester, Bath, and Queen Mary.

His research focuses on corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, and financial markets, contributing to the Accounting and Finance research group at Loughborough. His professional activities span academic leadership, international collaborations, and institutional evaluations.
