معرفی
Hua Lu is a Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC). Their research focuses on plant innate immunity and the interplay between plant defense mechanisms and circadian rhythms. Dr. Lu holds a Ph.D. from Texas A&M University (1999), and prior degrees from Nanjing University, China (MS 1993, BS 1990).
Key research projects include elucidating salicylic acid signaling networks using the acd6-1 genetic tool and investigating how the circadian clock modulates plant defense against pathogens. Recent work includes identifying FLK as a key regulator of defense and development, supported by a NSF grant. The lab also explores how pathogen attacks reciprocally affect circadian clock activity.
Teaching responsibilities include courses on plant molecular biology and plant biology. The Hua Lu Lab employs genetic, genomic, and biochemical approaches to advance fundamental understanding of plant-pathogen interactions with applications to crop improvement.
