Hrishikesh Joshi is an Assistant Professor of Philosophy at the University of Arizona with joint affiliation at the Center for the Philosophy of Freedom. He completed his PhD at Princeton University under advisors Gideon Rosen, Michael Smith, and Philip Pettit.
Joshi's research examines normative questions intersecting philosophy, economics, and political theory, with additional work in meta-ethical foundations. His approach integrates analytical philosophy with economic and political frameworks.
Prior to Arizona, he held positions at Bowling Green State University and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Michigan. His intellectual background combines training in philosophy with lived experience across India and the Caribbean.
