Howard French is a Professor of Journalism at Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism, Room 809, Pulitzer Hall. His work focuses on African studies, Chinese geopolitical influence, and post-colonial history, with recent publications examining Africa's liberation movements and China's global policy impact.
Recent Publications include analyses of Maoism's global reach, Pan-Africanism's Cold War challenges, and the enduring effects of colonialism on modern African states. His upcoming book, The Second Emancipation (2025), reinterprets 20th-century African decolonization through Kwame Nkrumah's Pan-African vision.
