Horst Löchel is a Professor of Economics at the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management and Co-Chairman of the Sino-German Centre e.V. He has held leadership roles such as Acting Dean, Deputy Dean, and Academic Director of MBA/Executive MBA programs at Frankfurt School. Previously, he served as founding manager of the Shanghai International Banking and Finance Institute (SIBFI) and held roles at CEIBS in Shanghai. His expertise centers on global macroeconomics, China's economic policies, and financial systems. He earned his Ph.D. (Dr. rer. pol.) in Economics from Goethe University Frankfurt in 1994 after vocational training as a banker.
