Honey Herce

Honey Herce, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology at Baylor College of Medicine and holds a clinical role as an Assistant Professor in Pediatric Ophthalmology at Texas Children's Hospital. She is affiliated with multiple Texas Children's Hospital locations, including the Texas Medical Center, West Campus, and Specialty Care facilities in Sugar Land and Cy-Fair.

Dr. Herce earned her M.D. from The University of Texas Medical Branch (2009), was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha, and completed her residency in Ophthalmology at The Ohio State University Havener Eye Institute (2013), followed by a Pediatric Ophthalmology fellowship at Texas Children's Hospital (2014). She also served an internship in General Medicine at Case Western Reserve University (2010).

Her clinical expertise focuses on pediatric ophthalmology, adult strabismus, and specialized conditions such as retinopathy of prematurity (ROP), ptosis, uveitis, and amblyopia. She leads the Ben Taub Hospital Neonatal ICU ROP screening program and contributes to inpatient pediatric ophthalmology consultations at Texas Children's Hospital.

Dr. Herce is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Association of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus, and Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology. Her research interests include amblyopia and ROP, with publications addressing ocular trauma in childhood sports.
