Homero M. Magaña, M.A., M.S., PPS, is a tenure-track Lecturer and Fieldwork Coordinator in the Graduate Counselor Education Program at California Lutheran University. He also serves as a Faculty Coach for the Collaborative for Hispanics in Higher Education & Student Success (CHESS) Male Initiative within the Department of Arts and Sciences. With over 20 years of experience in K-12 education and 16 years as a school counselor, he advocates for equity in education, English language learners, and college access programs like AVID.

His research and practice focus on fostering inclusive educational environments, supporting Hispanic male students, and promoting resilience, diversity, and transformative learning. His work emphasizes collaboration, consultation, and systemic change in education.
Scientific recognition includes the California SPARC Award (2007), Champion of Education Award (2018), and Nissan's 'Hispanics Who Dominate' campaign (2016). He addressed Michelle Obama at the White House College Opportunity Summit (2014) and participates in state/national education conferences.
