Holly Fairhurst is a Lecturer (TSPP) in Community Nursing at the School of Health & Social Sciences (SHLS) at Teesside University. Her roles include academic responsibilities in nursing education and leadership in healthcare. She holds a BSc Hons in Adult Nursing from the University of Cumbria (2016), a Master’s in Advancing Non-Medical Prescribing from Teesside University (2019), and a Certificate in Diabetes Care from the University of Warwick (2018). She completed the NHS Leadership Academy Award in Senior Healthcare Leadership in 2023.
Her research and teaching interests focus on cardiovascular, renal, and metabolic health linked to diabetes care. She actively contributes to primary care through roles such as Diabetes Lead and PCN Lead Nurse in Darlington, and directs the Teesside Diabetes Interest Group, providing education to healthcare professionals. Awards include recognition for senior healthcare leadership.
Holly’s professional trajectory includes roles from Staff Nurse at Royal Victoria Infirmary (2016–2017) to Lead Nurse at Carmel Medical Practice (2017–2022).
