Holly D. Maples

Holly D. Maples is an Associate Professor and holds the Jeff and Kathy Lewis Sanders Distinguished Chair in Pediatric Pharmacy at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) College of Pharmacy. She is affiliated with Arkansas Children’s Hospital (ACH) and leads the Pediatric Pharmacy Practice Residency Program. Her clinical roles include co-directing the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program and serving in the Infectious Disease In-patient/HIV Clinic at ACH.

Research Interests: Focuses on combating antimicrobial resistance through systematic approaches, advancing clinical pharmacy practice via new programs, and optimizing pediatric pharmacotherapy. Her work integrates developmental pharmacology, antimicrobial stewardship, and HIV treatment in pediatric populations.

Teaching & Service: Teaches courses on pediatric therapeutics, HIV, and antimicrobial resistance. Serves as preceptor for pediatrics advanced practice experiences. Active in professional organizations including AACP, ACCP, and SIDP.

Labs/Teams: Leads the Pediatric Pharmacy Residency Program and collaborates on the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program at Arkansas Children’s Hospital.
