Hoi Kong is a Visiting Professor at Cornell Law School and a full professor at the University of British Columbia’s Allard School of Law, where he holds the inaugural Beverley McLachlin, P.C. Professorship in Constitutional Law. His research and teaching focus on constitutional, administrative, municipal, and comparative law, as well as constitutional and public law theory. He is a Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation Fellow (2024-2027), Peter Wall Scholar (2020-2021), and Senior Research Fellow at the University of Texas at Austin’s Program on Constitutional Studies.
Research Interests: Constitutional law, administrative law, municipal law, comparative law, and constitutional/public law theory form the core of his scholarly work. His interdisciplinary approach bridges legal studies with governance and urban planning, particularly through his leadership in the Project on Deliberative Governance and Law and research at the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research on Montreal.
