Dr. Hoan Nguyen is a Lecturer in the Faculty of Science and Engineering at Southern Cross University (SCU). He holds a PhD in Civil Engineering from Monash University (2019–2022), an MSci in Civil Engineering from Hongik University (2017–2019), and a BEng in Transport Construction Engineering from the University of Transport and Communications, Vietnam (2011–2016). Prior to SCU, he served as a CERC Fellow at CSIRO.
His research focuses on sustainable infrastructure, smart materials and structures, digital engineering, advanced manufacturing, and nanotechnology. He explores intersections between material science and data science to enhance civil engineering applications, such as improving cement composites, developing self-centering seismic devices, and optimizing construction materials using AI-driven models.
