Hilary Taylor is an Assistant Professor of Voice in the School of Music at Wichita State University's College of Fine Arts. She holds a Doctorate of Music Arts in Voice Performance and Pedagogy from the University of North Texas. Her roles include Teaching Fellow in the Division of Vocal Studies and Adjunct Professor at Texas Woman’s University.
- Education: B.A./M.A. from University of Texas at Austin and Doctorate from University of North Texas.
Her research and performance interests focus on operatic roles (e.g., Dorabella in Così fan tutte, Sappho in Lysistrata), concert/oratorio performances (e.g., Verdi Requiem in Durham, England), and vocal pedagogy. She actively participates in outreach programs and has performed with major companies like Chautauqua Opera and Pittsburgh Festival Opera.
- Awards: Metropolitan Opera semifinalist, Mildred Miller finalist, and Lewisville Lake Symphony winner.
Recent engagements include debuts with Painted Sky Opera and recordings with Pittsburgh Festival Opera. She has also served as an Outreach Artist with the Dallas Opera for three seasons.
