Hilal Gul is an Industrial Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Alberta.
Her research focuses on:
- Stem Cell Engineering and stem cell biology
- Tissue engineering and cellular therapies
- Engineering techniques for stem cell micro-environments
- Signal processing applications in rehabilitation engineering
She teaches graduate courses including BME 511 (Stem Cell Engineering), covering biological aspects of stem cells, environmental factors regulating stem cell fate, ethical/legal issues, and therapeutic applications, and BME 530 (Topics in Biomedical Engineering) addressing specialized areas like signal processing for rehabilitation systems.
