Herve Migaud

Professor Herve Migaud is a leading academic at the Institute of Aquaculture, University of Stirling. His career spans over two decades, including roles as a postdoctoral fellow (2002), lecturer, senior lecturer, reader, and Chair in Fish Physiology (2012). He served as Director of Research (2011-2015), Deputy Director (2015-2016), and Acting Director (2017-2018) at his institute.

• Leader of Aquaculture Research Collaborative Hub (ARCH UK)

Research focuses on environmental, endocrine, genetic, and molecular control of fish physiology, particularly broodstock management, early maturation, gender/growth regulation, photoperiodism, clock systems, genetic manipulation for sterility, and domestication of new aquaculture species. His work includes tropical/temperate teleosts and cleaner fish for salmon farming lice control in Southeast Asia/South America. Research aligns with themes of Global Food Security, Environmental Change, and Health & Behaviour.
