Prof. Hermann Grabert is a full professor of theoretical physics at the University of Freiburg and Director of the School of Soft Matter Research at the Freiburg Institute for Advanced Studies (FRIAS). His research focuses on quantum dissipation, nanotechnology, and computational physics, with contributions to transport phenomena in nanostructures, quantum Monte Carlo simulations, and energy transfer mechanisms. He has held leadership roles, including FRIAS Director for Natural and Life Sciences (2013–2015) and Internal Senior Fellow in Soft Matter Research (2007–2013).
