Dr Henry Stead is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Classics at the University of St Andrews. His research focuses on the reception of ancient Greek and Roman culture among the British working classes and international left movements. He leads the Brave New Classics project, examining the intersection of classics with global communism, initially as a Leverhulme Early Career Fellow at the Open University (2016–2019). His work extends to co-authored studies like A People’s History of Classics (2020), exploring class dynamics in classical engagement since 1689.
