Henrique Galvan Debarba serves as an External Associate Professor in the Department of Architecture and Media Technology at The Technical Faculty of IT and Design, Aalborg University. He is based at Campus Copenhagen within the Section for Media Technology and is affiliated with both the Lighting Design Lab and Media Innovation & Game Research (Me-Ga) groups.
Dr. Debarba earned his PhD in Computer Science from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (February 17, 2017) and completed his MSc in Computer Science from Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul in Brazil (August 13, 2012).
His research spans multiple domains within virtual and augmented reality, with particular emphasis on user experience and interface design. His work bridges computer science with practical applications in healthcare, sustainability, and human-computer interaction. Dr. Debarba's research shows strong interdisciplinary connections, particularly in medical applications of virtual reality technologies.
His recent publications demonstrate continued innovation in virtual reality quality of experience, body animation features, and mobile augmented reality implementations, reflecting his ongoing contributions to advancing the field.
