Henri Mütschele is a Researcher at the Department of Communication and Media Studies, Institute of Social Sciences, Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf (HHU), and a Research Associate in the Polarization Research Program at the Center for Advanced Internet Studies, Bochum. His work focuses on deliberative argumentation structures, persuasion in political communication, and the dynamics of climate movements in Germany.

His research examines how argumentative schemes in public discourse influence individual opinion formation, particularly in climate politics and social movement communication. He investigates the interplay between strategic and deliberative communication, polarization, and the role of enemy images in political agonism. His publications address interactivity in online deliberation, climate policy advocacy, and narrative components of deliberative discourses.
Henri has presented at conferences including the International Communication Association (ICA), European Communication Research and Education Association (ECREA), and the 4th European Conference on Argumentation. His teaching experience spans seminars on climate movement dynamics, deliberative decision-making, and foundational courses in communication and media studies.
