Henri Brice AFANE

Henri Brice AFANE is a Lecturer and researcher at the University of Ngaoundéré, Cameroon. He holds a PhD in political sociology and directs the 'Cameroonian Studies' collection. His work critically examines bureaucratic systems in post-colonial contexts, particularly focusing on consular regulation and its role in perpetuating neocolonial dynamics in French-speaking Africa. His 2017 book, Consular Regulation in French-speaking Africa, analyzes how public administration functions as a conduit for foreign capital interests, drawing parallels to colonial-era administrative practices.

Research interests include post-colonial governance structures, the socio-political implications of bureaucracy, and the interplay between local and external economic forces in Cameroon and broader Francophone Africa.
